The effect of increasing trunk flexion during normal walking

چکیده

Abstract Background The head, arms and trunk segment constitute a large proportion of the body’s mass. Therefore, small alterations in inclination may affect lower limb joint moments muscle activation patterns. Although previous research has investigated effect changing frontal plane trunk, it is not clear how increasing flexion will impact on muscles. Research question What independently manipulating angle kinematics, function? Methods Gait analysis was carried out 20 healthy people under four conditions: normal walking (NW), NW-5°, NW+5° NW+10°. For latter three conditions, biofeedback approach used to tightly control angle. A linear mixed model investigate angles, moments, knee activation. Results There were increases hip ankle as increased, but no change moments. results also showed increase flexor activity corresponding co-contraction increased. Interestingly, there dramatic profile hamstring activity. In medial hamstrings, this led 100% during early stance increased by 5° from NW. Significance This first study demonstrate strong dependence flexion. important with osteoarthritis have been observed walk elevated linked loads. It possible that these altered patterns result walking.

the effect of e-64 on the developmental competence of sheep cocs during in vitro maturation

in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.

Kinematics of Normal Menisci during Knee Flexion

The human knee menisci are important structures to, proper knee joint function. At present, little data exists describing the meniscal kinematics of the intact knee. Accordingly, the purpose of this study was to determine in-vivo meniscal kinematic motion of the non-injured knee during unloaded knee flexion through use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Seven females and three males (mean age...

The posterior cruciate ligament during flexion of the normal knee.

The posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) was imaged by MRI throughout flexion in neutral tibial rotation in six cadaver knees, which were also dissected, and in 20 unloaded and 13 loaded living (squatting) knees. The appearance of the ligament was the same in all three groups. In extension the ligament is curved concave-forwards. It is straight, fully out-to-length and approaching vertical from 60...

Increasing trunk flexion transforms human leg function into that of birds despite different leg morphology.

Pronograde trunk orientation in small birds causes prominent intra-limb asymmetries in the leg function. As yet, it is not clear whether these asymmetries induced by the trunk reflect general constraints on the leg function regardless of the specific leg architecture or size of the species. To address this, we instructed 12 human volunteers to walk at a self-selected velocity with four postures...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
